Meet Founder Zienethe "Zina" Holifield
For more than 20 years, I have dedicated my career to public service, working in mental health, corrections, and child welfare as a child abuse investigator. Throughout my journey, I have witnessed the profound impact that unaddressed emotions, trauma, and unmet needs can have on individuals, families, and communities. These experiences have strengthened my passion for meeting people where they are, leading with compassion, and creating positive, healthy outlets for emotions that are often misunderstood or difficult to express.
I believe we all have moments when life brings out a little “crazy” in us. What matters most is how we choose to manage those emotions and the actions we take in response. At The Damage Zone, we call this being a Responsible Psycho—recognizing our emotions, taking ownership of our responses, and choosing a safe, constructive way to release what we carry.
The Damage Zone was created to be a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and safe space where people can release stress, anger, grief, and emotional burdens without fear of shame, stigma, or criminalization. Everyone deserves an opportunity to be heard, supported, and empowered to choose a healthier path forward.
My vision is for The Damage Zone to be more than a place to release emotions. It is a step toward building healthier individuals, stronger families, and safer communities. Through this work, I hope to contribute to reducing violence, abuse, and crime while helping children and adults who are too often misunderstood find healthier ways to cope, heal, and thrive.
Because when we create safe spaces for people to release, we create opportunities for people to heal.
